Crafty weekends are the best!!!

Had an absolutely crafty weekend. Very few interruptions.

I haven’t made a great deal of progress on the stitching but I worked on a few other projects to get a bit of a head start on Christmas.

Some cards were made which are now being weighted down to make them lie a bit flatter…

And some “rustic country” Christmas ornaments that are now waiting to have the final hole sewn closed… Which will wait till tomorrow.

Now for the beast of a stitch…

Once again slow progress but it’s fantastic to see it coming together…

Happy stitching everyone!!!!

It’s not easy being fifty shades of green…

So happy to finally made it to the green. Although, in a week or two I may not still be saying that.

I have to admit that I’m a little frustrated with trying to find time to work on this lately. I have a few other crafty projects planned for the upcoming weeks. Some of them are still in the imagination / planning stage and others are waiting on materials to finish them (which I’m hoping to get sometime over the weekend.

Work has been absolutely crazy and eating up a lot of my time and energy. I Still firmly believe that I should quit my job until I get this cross stitch finished, however I’m not quite sure how my boss would feel about that….

So anyways, yes, I have hit the green which means I am officially over half way through the first of eleven pages of pattern.

And since I can’t resist super cute photos of my babies…

Ha! Please excuse me while I use your fat belly as a pillow…

Happy stitching everyone!!!

Show off your backside!!!

I come from a long line of stitchers in my family. Therefore, it’s not completely uncommon when handed a piece of embroidery to say oh… That’s beautiful… And then flip it over to look at the back. I must say that I don’t always pay close attention to the back although I try to be conscious of what’s going on back there as to not have any knots or loose threads.

I am particularly pleased with the way this piece is working up so far although the colors have me a bit worried for the accuracy.

So here’s my backside… So far anyways…

Progress on this beast has been slow at best but maybe I might have it done in a few years.

Slow progress

Definatelt didn’t get as much done as I would’ve liked to. But any progress on this beast is a good day.

The “antique violet” next to the brown has me a little worried. I was unable to find a picture of this piece completed. But it does actually look like a muted grey when under certain lighting. I have decided I’m going to continue until I know for sure if the pattern works or not.

I’m really on a Christmas rampage right now. This is one of two large Christmas pieces I am working on. I will start showing the other one as soon as I can get the fabric that I want. Can’t seem to find 22 count aida cloth anywhere near large enough around here locally so I guess I will have to order online which is kind of sad because I was looking forward to starting it this past weekend…

Pattern printed…. Check,

All threads purchased and organized… Check,

Fabric purchased… Ughhhh I hate waiting for stuff to come in the mail…

On another note the threads for “Christmas magic” are all ones I had lying around from a few years ago when I bought the entire anchor thread collection. It’s nice to be able to use them up as most places here now are carrying dmc. May have to order 1 or 2 skeins of certain colors to complete it but I’m very happy I didn’t have to buy them all.

So right now I have “Christmas Magic” started.

I am itching to start “Christmas Presence” but this is the one I need to get fabric for… From HAED…

gonna stitch up some cute little owls for Christmas cards as well

May be biting off more than I can handle but it will keep me busy at least…

Happy stitching!!!!
