So, I decided that I was going to take the day off from work yesterday and spend it doing things that I wanted to do. Sort of an early birthday present to myself… Long weekend spent crafting…
Friday night was spent tidying the house so it was done and I didn’t have to worry about it. Then the rest of the weekend is mine to do what I want… Or so I thought…
Wait… I forgot to clean the ferrets cage. Ok 2 hours later that’s done… Now to sit and work on some projects… WHAT!!! REALLY!!! IM OUT OF IRON ON INTERFACING!!! GIVE ME A BREAK ALREADY!!! Off to the store I go… Another hour gone because I can’t just run in and pick up one thing of course. Have to check the entire craft section because, ya know, I haven’t been there in a couple days and they might have something I haven’t seen yet…
Back home, I sit down, set up what I’m working on for what’s left of the day. (See previous post of snowflake ornaments :)) and then the little fuzzbutts decide they want to get up and play…. Ughhhh!!!! No arts and craft can be completed easily while they are awake plus I can never say no to playtime with them because they are just too cute.

Fast forward… They go back to bed, I sit down again. Open up the container of beads and start working. One, two, three, ornament done. Wow it’s going really well… I need to get something to eat. I ru. Out to the kitchen and make a sandwich, eager to get back to the creative process… Sit down, and… The pocket on my shorts catch the edge of my bead container… Seed beads… Everywhere… Now normally I would just grab the vacuum in a fit of frustration and suck them into oblivion. However, I still had three ornaments to finish and no back up beads. So I spend the next hour picking beads out of the carpet…
I did however get them almost completed but it seemed like a struggle through the whole process.
Move on to Monday, my glorious day off to do whatever I want… I had decided that it was going to be the last day on the first page of my cross stitch because I’m excited to no e on to something other than the background…
Oh crap!!! I forgot I need to renew my license this week (thank you mom and dad for reminding me). So, off to the DMV I go. I think to myself, it’s early, it’s Monday morning, I can make it there just in time for it to open, have it done in a short amount of time, and back home to stitch for the rest of the day… Haha haha… I’m such a fool… There must have been close to 150 people sitting there with their numbered tickets waiting to do whatever they are there for that’s interrupting my crafting time!!!
On a side note it has been unually hot and muggy here for a couple weeks.
THANK YOU TO THE ARCHITECT THAT DESIGNED THIS GOD FORSAKEN BUILDING WITH A GLASS ROOF. essentially turning it into a greenhouse filled with hot, sweaty, annoyed people… I waited outside for the most part…
I make it back home three hours later… Ok grab some lunch, sit down and stitch… Oh Jasper!!! Why do you want to play right now!!! Ok, play time with the ferts it is…
They saunter back to bed. I start stitching… The phone rings… Ughhhh…
So to make an incredibly long post a bit shorter, I took a nap because I was very frustrated with not being able to get nearly as much done as I wanted for pretty much the entire weekend. Got up two hours later, and stitched till midnight. Off to bed I go for work in the morning comes early.
Maybe tomorrow I will finish that first page…
