Hey everyone.
So happy to welcome Heidi and Connie to the SAL. The more the merrier!!! Enjoy, it’s a great group of supportive people with fantastic ideas and suggestions.
On to my update.
I am determined to have this beast finished by Christmas so I have been spending a bit more time stitching than usual lately.
In the last update I was working on the little girl in the picture it was a bit of a nightmare but I have a feeling this entire row of pages is not going to be quick going. There is a bit of “sparkly Christmas magic” across this entire row so we will just have to see how it goes.
It has become painfully clear that hair, fur, and clothing have waaaayyyyy too many colours but it makes for an amazing finish. You don’t realize how many colours you would never think of using are actually in it.
All the light blues, pinks, and greens, combine to form what in real life would just be considered white. I’m really enjoying the process of watching each stitch complete the piece more and more.
Below are a few of the progress pictures between the last post and this one.
Head over and have a look at what some of the other people in the SAL are working on. I’m about to do the same because i have been seriously lacking at it this summer so far.
happy stitching everyone!!!.
I can see what you mean by the sparkly magic π Good luck stitching through all that. You are a fast stitcher and you got a lot done!

I am always amazed at the colors and how they create such a detailed image. I am an idiot about color! I don’t know if you will make your Christmas goal, but you are certainly making very fast and steady progress, so I think you could do it, barring real life interfering.

It’s amazing to watch this one grow. I know what you mean about all the different shades but that’s what makes it look so good. We’ll be cheering you on for a Christmas Happy Dance π

This is such an ambitious piece. It is amazing how all those colors combine to add life to what simpler designs would render in pure white or ivory. It will really be something if you get this done by Christmas! (Not that I doubt your ability, it’s just such a big piece!)

You’ve got loads done since last time. I know what you mean about the colours. I have a WIP that uses similar colours in a cat’s fur.

Fantastic progress this time Timothy. I remember stitching a beautiful tiger for my brother, and was very unsure of a beautiful lavender shade being included in the fur, when it was done it was hard for even me to find it.

It’s on 22ct Aida. About 16″ across. It takes a lot of patience lately with all the colour changes. But totally worth itπ

Ah, it looks sooo tiny. 18 is usually small enough for me! But then, I don’t use any kind of magnifying device either. Maybe if I did….
It looks awesome and will be worth all the time and energy when its done, so much detail!
