Sal Update

Apparently I forgot to post yesterday. Sadly there has been no progress for the last couple weeks. I have been working on other projects.

Happy to have my craft room back in order since the move in December I haven’t had the time or the will to do it…

A couple of projects in the works

Everyone should hop around and check out the other people in this fantastic sal and see their amazing projects. I’ll pop the links below in a bit

Sal update

Hey everyone, time for another stitchy update. And I’m so happy with this one.

I’ve been a busy little stitcher the last couple weeks. Here’s where I picked up from after the last update:

Getting closer…

And finally after a couple hours of stitching confetti…

A page finish!!!! Woot woot!!!

I’m so excited to finally have found the corner of his storybook!!!

I had someone ask me earlier this week about the scissors I use and realized I haven’t shared it here so…

I swear these are the best scissors I have ever used. Incredibly sharp. (I drilled a small hole in the handle to hold the charms) 😜 they are made by Fiskars. They also make the small collapsable ones so if you’re afraid of the sharp tips on these there’s another option.

I also use a larger version of these for cutting fabric when sewing. They are spring loaded so help with your hands getting tired when cutting large pieces.

That’s my little rant for this update. Time for my shameless puppy plug…

In between bouts of rain we still managed to get out for a little walk this morning.

Head over and check out the other fabulous artists involved in the SAL. All amazing people and are working on some great projects.

Sal update “Christmas Magic”

Oh so happy to have made progress on this, finished the first page of the last row and put a good dent in the second page. much to my surprise the page had the largest part of the same colour that I have come across so far. The excitement of this being finished is starting to get me motivated to get to the end.

Here’s where I started off at after the last update:

I had some time on my hands the last few weeks so I managed to get quite a bit of stitching done. Normally I take a picture every few hours because I’m planning on putting them all together in a slide show when it’s finished. But I got lost in the stitching a bit so there’s a few pictures that are “missing”

Here’s where I am now:

If I can keep up this pace it’s only a matter of weeks before it’s done.

Guess who is spending the day stitching with the puppy? …. like how I just worked him into that? I can’t resist …

We get to walk in some beautiful places so most mornings we hop out of bed and go for a 2.5km walk through a park close to our home.

We went through a whole teething nightmare for about the last three weeks where his baby teeth got really brittle which meant little needle teeth for a few weeks. 😡 there were some unhappy cats and humans till they fell out. And a few we had to hold him down to pull them they were causing him some discomfort.

I have to say adult teeth are wonderful when your dog is “all-mouth-all-the-time” lol.

That’s my little rant for this time.

Take some time to stop by my fellow artisans and check out their amazing projects. Pssss… check out their bios as well they lead some very interesting lives😁

Sal update April 15

Well I have to say I’m happy with the way it’s going so far on this last row. I’m sure the next couple pages will be a nightmare but doing the background has been relaxing so a nice way to pick it up again.

I can’t wait to see this final row come together.

At some point I’m going to have to go back to the previous section and finish the snow globe and sleeve but I can’t even think about all the confetti stitches in that area right now. I suspect that I will fill in some of it as I come across the colours working the bottom row.

It’s been pretty quiet here this week. The wonderful man of mine is currently studying for exams so that’s keeping him busy.

Tidus is as crazy as ever. He’s gone from being the shy little boy to a big brute who has chewed a hole in my floor Bwahahaha.

The poor bird was not terribly impressed with him.

We have discovered that if we give him a stick to hold in his mouth while walking it goes much more smoothly, generally we walk him in a fairly busy park with other animals so distractions are sometimes a real problem.

I’m happy to be back among you great group of stitchers and have been sneaking around the last little while looking at what’s been going on while I was gone.

Hope everyone is doing well, your projects are amazing as always!!!

Starting up again…

Well I kinda fell of the face of the earth for a while. Between problems at work, a move that wasn’t really planned to happen for at least another year. And a new puppy in the house I sort of lost the stitchy bug for a while. Let’s just say I’ve had a bit of time on my hands this last two weeks so I have started again on this beast that seems to be never ending.

We have added a new member to our fuzzy family. Here is Tidus, Alaskan malamute. Or “guts” as I tend to call him.

Sal Update.

Things have been crazy busy here. Working every day during the opening of a new hotel can be tiring but so rewarding.

I did however manage to get in some stitching time so here is the update!!!

I’m so happy with the way things are coming along with this.

I’m heading around to see what everyone else is working on and you should do the same😜

Sal update.

Ahhhhh!!!!! This stitcher needs a break!!! Lol.

So as you’re all aware I lost my little girl taz a little while ago like I posted about before.

Then I get a call about a new job that I’ve been trying to get for a while now and the company is finally ready to open. So I got the job and put in my notice at my current job and finished up there. Then I get another phone call stating that construction is delayed so now I will be off for another 10 days.  It sure if I should take it as a blessing or a curse.

On top of all that it may be time to find a new place to live which means moving again. Anyone who knows me will know that I don’t handle change well at all.

I haven’t made much progress and so I have jumped to the end of the current row I’m working on just to avoid the massive amounts of color changes and work on another section that doesn’t require as much concentration lol.

You guys have been so supportive in both the loss of my beloved pet and keeping me motivated. I missed my rounds last update with everything going on. So I just wanted to say thank you to everyone it doesn’t go unnoticed at all.

It’s Thanksgiving weekend here so whoever you all are I hope you’re well fed, comfortable, relaxed, and loved.

Everyone taking the time to read this really needs to go and check out the other pages in this incredible group of fiber artists there are some amazing works going on and getting close to completion.

Happy stitching everyone!!!

Sal update.

It has been a rough little while here so I haven’t been spending much time stitching.

Wednesday night at 4am my sweet little baby girl took her last breath. We knew it was time and she spent the day curled up in bed with me until the end. She passed peacefully in her sleep. The other two boys have said their goodbyes. Her bonded mate is missing her terribly and has now taken over her cuddle position.
Diagnosed with adrenal and insuloma at the age of two she still managed to live a long and happy life with me until she was almost 8.
You will be forever missed my baby girl. Daddy loves you always💜

As for my update. I’m not nearly as far along as I would like to be. But here it is.

Quick update. SAL

I don’t think I’m going to make my deadline of Christmas with this one but I’m still stitching along.

The last page was a nightmare of confetti but I think that was the worst page in the pattern so I’m happy it’s done. This next one seems to be going a bit faster.

I’m on overnights for the weekend so I will have time to stitch and check out all your lovely projects. I’m sorry I haven’t been that active in the group lately, things have been kinda crazy in every possible way this summer.

Happy stitching all😁

SAL update!!! 😜

Hey everyone.

So happy to welcome Heidi and Connie to the SAL. The more the merrier!!! Enjoy, it’s a great group of supportive people with fantastic ideas and suggestions.

On to my update.

I am determined to have this beast finished by Christmas so I have been spending a bit more time stitching than usual lately.

In the last update I was working on the little girl in the picture it was a bit of a nightmare but I have a feeling this entire row of pages is not going to be quick going. There is a bit of “sparkly Christmas magic” across this entire row so we will just have to see how it goes.

So without further delay…

It has become painfully clear that hair, fur, and clothing have waaaayyyyy too many colours but it makes for an amazing finish. You don’t realize how many colours you would never think of using are actually in it.

All the light blues, pinks, and greens, combine to form what in real life would just be considered white. I’m really enjoying the process of watching each stitch complete the piece more and more.

Below are a few of the progress pictures between the last post and this one.

Head over and have a look at what some of the other people in the SAL are working on. I’m about to do the same because i have been seriously lacking at it this summer so far.

happy stitching everyone!!!.
